Today Citylocs.com would like to pay respect to the God Father of Gangsta Rap Eric ( Eazy E.) Wright Today marks the 20th anniversary of the untimely death of Eazy-E. One of the pioneering founders of the west coast Gangsta Rap Sound and one of our personal inspirations. Eazy-E founded Ruthless Records in the late 1980’s and with some of the pre-eminent masters of Gangsta Rap they created N.W.A. and pioneered the West Coast sound.Eazy-E was one of the driving factors behind the beginning of a whole new revolutionary sound and style of performing rap music. With an ultra aggressive brutally blunt and painfully honest delivery. He was able to shed light on the darkness and evil that plagued the inner cities of America at the time. N.W.A. as a band made music N.W.A. as a movement inspired change and personified a rage that was building slowly within urban America for a number of decades.
His and ultimately their music was a direct reflection of their personal experiences and life and times. And an expression of the emotions, thoughts, desires and ideals of the inner city. They spoke up for the voiceless and acted for the weak and took their message to the top of government literally.I personally admire Eazy not just for his originality but mostly for his honesty.
By no means was Eazy E a saint but his message was pure and from a first person perspective. He knew what he was rapping about was real. About this fact he was unapologetic. We want to send out our utmost respect and deepest gratitude to Eazy and want to wish his family the best.Eazy E is a legend and will always be remembered.R.I.P - Eric ( Eazy-E ) Wright September 7, 1963 – March 26, 1995 Gone but never forgotten.
